Talking formally in Polish one has to address a male person using the form "Pan" (Mr./Sir) + 3d person singular of the verb, addressing a female person – one has to use the form "Pani" (Ms./Ma'am) + 3d person singular of the verb. Addressing two or more female persons only, one has to use the form "Panie" (Ladies) + 3d person plural of the verb. Addressing two or more male persons only, one has to use "Panowie" (Gentlemen) + 3d person plural of the verb. If the group is mixed (female and male persons), one has to use the form "Państwo" (Ladies and gentlemen) + 3d person plural.
