The masculine nouns with the final hard consonants of the stem: -b, -p, -d, -t, -f, -w, -ch, -ł, -m, -n, -r, -s, -z;take in genitive plural the ending –ów

The feminine & neuter nouns with the final hard consonants of the stem keep in genitive plural the stem (sometimes with few vocalic alternations) without any ending.

 

The masculine & feminine nouns nouns with the final soft consonants of the stem: dzi/-dź, -ci/-ć, , -j, -l, -ni/-ń, -si/-ś, -zi/-ź, take in genitive plural the ending –i (there are some exception)

The masculine non-personal & feminine nouns with the final functionally soft consonants of the stem: -dz , - dż , -c, -cz, -rz, -ż, -sz; take in genitive plural the ending –y (there are some exceptions).

  ATTENTION: 

  • truskawka – BUT: Nie lubię truskawek (I DON'T LIKE STRAWBERRYS)

    jabłko – BUT: Nie lubię jabłek (I DON'T LIKE APPLES)
